DEBORAH'S OBITUARY On Saturday, March 21, 2020, Deborah Lockhart Wilson, beloved wife, mother and grandmother, passed away at Gilchrist Center Towson after a long illness. She was 80. Deborah was born on March 19, 1940, in Philadelphia, Pa., to Frank and Janet (Claflin) Lockhart. The youngest of three daughters, she attended Agnes Irwin School and later Radnor High School, both along the Main Line in Philadelphia. After graduating from Penn Hall Junior College, she married Thomas Matthew Wilson III in 1962 and the young couple moved to Baltimore County, where they raised their three children, Deborah, Leslie and Tom. Known for her great sense of humor, Deborah had a brilliant, dimpled smile and infectious laugh that could quickly put anyone at ease. During the 1980s, she was proprietor of an antique clock shop in Monkton called Timely Treasures, where she enjoyed the company of curious customers as much as the chiming of the clocks on the half-hour. But she was most happy in the peaceful, private surroundings of her beloved Baobab Farm. There, she enjoyed tending to the many exotic plants in her greenhouse, riding on her Ford tractor, and reading every mystery novel she could find. Deborah was passionate about critters large and small and always had a loyal dog or two by her side. Deborah was preceded in death by her father, Frank, her mother, Janet, both of Philadelphia, and her sister, Katherine (Lockhart) Hertel, of Montville, N.J. She is survived by her beloved husband of 58 years, Thomas, her sister Janet (Lockhart) Hughes, three children, Deborah Prem (Keith), Leslie Penkunas (Keith) and Thomas M. Wilson IV, and grandchildren Alison and Hannah Prem and Cole and Kendall Penkunas. A celebration of life will be planned after the COVID-19 restrictions for group gatherings have been lifted. Those wishing to honor her memory are invited to make a donation to the Alzheimer’s Association. |

Rob was born and raised in the Philadelphia area. He traveled much in his early married life and settled down in Seattle in 1971 to be near his daughters. An engineer by training, Rob explored life to its utmost. He was passionate about classical music, travel, intellectual pursuits, and frugality. He attended University Unitarian Church for 30+ years and audited courses at the University of Washington with his "gang", Jon Jarvis, Maxine Atlas, and Sylvia Crecelius. He was an aficionado of "black humor" and an essayist. He loved to cook, host family events, and often spent winters in Florida with family. Rob was an excellent storyteller and loved to command a room with his booming bass voice, charming smile, and a twinkle in his eye. He will be greatly missed.
Rob was predeceased by his father, William Mueller and brother, Fred Mueller. He is survived by his daughters Monica Mueller of Seattle, WA and Michelle Mueller of Portland, OR; former wife Cindy Lyons of Seattle; four grandchildren, Maya Lanham Marsh, Xavier, Reesio and Viana Garcia of Seattle; mother Carolyn Bright Mueller of Melbourne, FL; sister Carol Mueller McGuigan and husband Robert of Pottsville, PA; cousin Dr. Clare Bright of Seattle; and several cousins, nieces and nephews on the East Coast.
A celebration of life is planned. Family and friends will gather for some of Rob's favorite activities: potluck picnicking and socializing.
